Pharmacists and seniors’ residences: traps to avoid

In recent years, business relationships between pharmacists and managers, administrators or owners of seniors’ residences have caused a lot of ink to flow. 

The Syndic of the Ordre des pharmaciens recently indicated that it was monitoring the following situations: massive transfers of prescriptions or patient files, conflict of interest situations (apparent or actual), presence of convenience stores or prescription counters in residences and remittance of benefits by pharmacists to various stakeholders.

This article is intended as a reminder of existing standards and of the disciplinary and regulatory sanctions provided for the violation of these standards.
